This hybrid edifice (theatre-amphitheatre) was situated outside the town, in a place known as Grohan
« Dum deambulatum exivisti, eâdem operâ theatrum Romanorum extra portas vide, cujus rudera extant in loco GROHAN, testi[278]monia, olim Prætores Romanos populo Gallico edidisse spectacula, in gratam Cæsarum suorum memoriam : oblatum mihi, cùm ibi essem, antiquum est numisma quod inde erutum seriò adfirmabatur, habens nomen & acta antiqua. »
