Modern archaeologists seem to be unaware of Du Rivail’s account (Planchon/Bois/Conjard-Réthoré 2010)
« et ibi est episcopi templum et domus sive castrum celebre, et antiquitatis hæc superioribus annis extabant vestigia ».
= There is here an episcopal church, a famous house or castle, and, a few years ago, one could still see many antique remains.
