Apostolic prothonotary, secular canon of the church of Saint-Pierre in Macôn (c. 1519-1593)
Saint-Julien’s account confirms the existence of a bridge between the castrum and the Isle of Saint Laurent: it comprised six arches of varying widths, constructed on five piers; its deck was in wood; the beams, more than 10 metres long, rested directly on the piers
« qu’il y ait eu un pont sur les Orlans, non seulement le fondement des piliers tant apparent, en est manifeste tesmoinz ; mais aussi il est certain que les piliers anciens soustenant ledit pont ayants pour la pluspart esté brisez, quelques-uns resterent entiers, qui ont esté mis en uure, en un bastiment de la maison du Prieur, qui est entre le Cloistre, & la porte par la quelle on entre en ladite maison. »
