The vestiges known as the ‘Temple de Diane’, in fact those of a Paleochristian episcopal ensemble, could still be seen on the site of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de la Major and of the former Romanesque cathedral known as the ‘Vieille Major’
= The site occupied today by the large church (la Major), was, in times past, that of a temple dedicated to Diana. The presence of several antiquities support this idea.
