Dom Morin describes here the remains of a religious architectural complex situated close to the Loing River and the Briare Canal, between the localities of Chenevière and Craon; it notably comprised an entertainment venue (theatre-amphitheatre), baths and a sanctuary related to the local springs
« Creusant des tranchées (en 1608) du canal de Briare, entre Montbouis [Montbouy] et Monteresson, sur le rivage de la rivière de Loing, en un lieu appelé Sévinières [Chenevière], furent trouvés plusieurs vestiges et vieux bâtiments à la romaine, avec les ruines d’un amphithéâtre ; plus bas furent trouvés, dans un champ des pilastres et quantité de vieux fondements, et encore en ce champ se trouva un lavoir à la mosaïque et plusieurs médailles »
