After the three Colines editions ( 1536 , 1539 , 1542 ) and the Chaudières’ edition in 1550 , the Raison d’architecture antique came out once again in 1555. The edition that Benoît Prévost printed was divided between Guillaume Cavellat and Gilles Gourbin. The book went from 51 to 56 sheets. This modification was due simply to the change of type (the roman typeface replaced italics, and vice versa). The spelling was modernized, abbreviations were often deleted and a classical page without illustrations replaced the title page with a portal from preceding editions. Guillaume Cavellat’s daughter produced the final edition of the book in 1608.
