A posthumous new edition of an enlarged version of the 1552 Annotationes was published without place of publication by Jean II de Tournes. The Protestant bookseller from Lyon had left that city with his family to go to Geneva in November 1585 because of the unrest and the attacks against his place of business (Cartier 1970, pp. 18-22, 127-133). De Tournes reused the woodcuts engraved for his father with a new typographical formatting made necessary by the new typesetting. He modified the order of the elements (the certificate of privilege, the portrait of Philandrier) and inverted the indices. The motto Quod tibi fieri non vis, alteri ne feceris replaces the 1552 motto, Nescit labi virtus . There is nothing to point out save the typographical errors, but the edition is of a lesser quality than his father’s.
Some copies bear the note “Genevae” above the date.
