The ‘Pont du Gard’ was probable the most universally admired Gallo-Roman monument
« Entre Beauchaire, Vzez, & Lodesve est le pont admirable du Gard, basti par les Romains, & est à trois estages. Il leur servoit d’aqueducts, pour faire venir l’eau à Nismes. »
